What is there to say about Blockchain Jobs in Europe?

Blockchain4talent.com is a new job board for only Blockchain related jobs. Currently the geographical focus of Blockchain4talent is on 13 Western European countries.   

Based on data from Blockchain4talent (dated October 2020) there are some interesting things to say about the current state of the Blockchain Job market in Western Europe, for instance;

• How many Blockchain jobs are there?
• In what countries & cities you find the most Blockchain jobs?
• Who’s hiring and which of them are Blockchain companies?
• How are the values changing over time?

Please note that we took a very broad definition of what constitutes a Blockchain Job, meaning any Job with the word Blockchain, Bitcoin, Ethereum or cryptocurrency in the text fits the definition.

Number of Blockchain Jobs hiring for Blockchain talent:

In May there were 3,163 jobs but Italy and Spain were not yet included. So, if you correct the data there is increase of 7% in the number of Blockchain Jobs in the period from May 2020 until October 2020 (5 months).

There have been no chances in the ranking compared to May (please note Spain and Italy were not in the data of May). Countries like Switzerland, Spain and Ireland have a relatively high number of Blockchain Jobs compared to their population size.

Paris is the new number 1 with 547 Blockchain Jobs (in May it was London).

The city of Zug in Switzerland is the big outlier here. With a population of just over 30,000 people, Zug has an impressive 51 Blockchain jobs (although it’s 17 jobs less than in May).

This list looks quite different from May but this also due (again ;)) because companies from Italy and Spain are now included.

There are a lot of changes in the top 10 Blockchain companies hiring new talent. For instance Vardex Suisse AG, R3, Quickbit, Lykke Business AG, Finixio and Blockchain.com have disappeared from the list and  Urban Linker, Parity Technologies, Bitcoin Suisse AG, Coinbase, Exodus and Blockchain HELIX AG have entered the list compared to last May.
