We’re looking for a UK Managing Director who can help build and execute STX Next’s UK strategy. Working directly with the VP of Sales, Service Delivery Managers (SDMs), and Pre-Sales, you will help to develop new business, improve the client onboarding process, increase retention, and identify opportunities to upsell services. You will be our first hire in the country, so your efforts will be instrumental in establishing and executing the strategy that will serve as the foundation of our client-facing activities in the UK.

Through ‘get-to-know-you’ meetings and ongoing email correspondence, you’ll help build strong relationships that last throughout the client lifecycle. However, we’re not only all about the numbers – it’s equally important to gather feedback from our clients (measured through third-party interviews, case studies, and referrals).

STX Next is a Private, Equity-backed “Product Development as a Service” (PDaaS) company. The company’s founder managed to hit on a programming language—Python—well ahead of its time and today the company is capitalizing on this decision. Five years ago, we had 15 clients from Western Europe and the United States. Today, we have more than 60 active clients from across the globe.

Job description


One to three months

  • Learn how to present STX Next services and unique value proposition.
  • Complete a comprehensive onboarding, consisting of trainings, online courses, and prescribed readings.
  • Adopt the tools necessary to be successful: CRM, business analytics, collaboration, and project management, etc.
  • Build relationships throughout the organization, including Management, Marketing/Growth, and Pre-Sales teams. This will include onsite visits to our Headquarters in Poznań.
  • Work with the VP of Sales to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts.
  • Work with the Director of Growth to plan marketing efforts.
  • Perform research and identify new potential customers and new market opportunities.
  • Begin executing on sales targets.

Three to twelve months

  • Work directly with the Management Board to establish a 3-year plan for the UK, including budgeting and, recruitment and sales targets.
  • With assistance from the CFO, help establish the business case for a physical presence in the UK in addition to full-employment contracts.
  • Guide prospective clients through the full sales cycle, paying careful attention to the prospective clients’ needs.
  • Qualify leads through an extensive discovery process.
  • Negotiate and close agreements with large and mid-sized clients.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics and suggest improvements.
  • Overall management of the post-sales relationship with clients, which includes owning the onboarding process, increasing retention, and identifying opportunities to upsell services.
  • Work with the Pre-Sales team to facilitate workshops with key clients, both onsite and online.
  • Team with the client success team to increase Client Lifetime Value.
  • Keep up to date on new technology trends and make recommendations to STX Next on potential new service offerings.

Twelve to eighteen months

  • Prioritize new hires (sales, marketing).
  • Prepare the business case for billable (product strategy consultant, solutions architect, etc.) roles in the UK.


Your success will be measured based on revenue targets, a mix of new sales, and the increasing lifetime value of existing UK accounts. This is a unique opportunity to work together with nearly all of the STX Next departments.

  • An entrepreneurial spirit. The right candidate will eventually take ownership of our operations in the UK and this could mean adding billable roles such as Solutions Architects, Product Strategy Consultants, and Product Designers in addition to sales and marketing professionals.
