IBM Norway is creating a team, driven by student workers, who will have the opportunity to work with the latest technologies within one of the world’s most innovative technology companies on existing customer problems.

You will be part of a prototyping team helping our skilled IT Architects and Sales Executives to demonstrate the value and capability of IBM’s technologies to our clients and Business Partners – herein developer communities and universities. You will be a part of our Nordic CTO office, that manages the Technical Students across all Nordic countries, and you will be taking leadership guidance and coaching from the local country CTO.

The job will be very self-paced and you will typically be organized in small teams with a joint goal of finishing a task or project within tight deadlines. Promoting yourself and your work through presentations, communication on social media as well as internal blogs will be a part of your role.

As a part of the Nordic Student team you will work with the latest of IBM’s technologies – e.g.:

  • IBM Cloud (developer platform)
  • AI and Deep Learning (Watson)
  • Internet of Things (IOT)
  • Blockchain
  • Ad-hoc tasks like app-development and in some cases together with other leading IT-vendors

On top of working with solutions that has direct value and impact for clients and partners you will also be working together with other students on bringing some of your projects back to the universities. These projects might be built based on your personal interests and innovation. It will be you and your colleagues – often collaborating with other IBM Business Units, who come up with the idea and bring them to life.

About You

You are ambitious and energetic in combination with a strong aptitude for technical challenges. You are a team player with strong communication skills and self-motivated.

It is required to have programming skills and preferably with skills in several programming languages. Or, you are a data scientist, focused on adopting machine learning techniques to solutions using R or Python centered tools.
It’s essential to your success in IBM that you are a creative thinker with a desire to create solutions to business problems, and you understand how to work in teams of people with different background and interest.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
We expect that you:

  • Have solid experience with at least one programming language
  • Understand IT-architecture in general
  • Have a strong interest into technology and innovation
  • Are a self-paced team player
  • Like to work in short sprints under high pressure
  • Are good at proactively communicating your capabilities and limitations
  • Are fluent in both verbal and written English
  • You are in your 3rd or 4th year of your studies
