About the role

  • Responsible for managing a team to assure the quality of the solutions for LFP, defining strategy and infrastructure need to secure quality of deliverables together with R&D teams. Connect with new developments and current products teams program manager to set deliverables and expectations regarding Software quality solutions.

  • Responsible of managing a team of QA SW engineers. Set clear objectives and track them. Provide support and coaching for talent development and professional growth. Increase the knowledge and expertise of team members. Ensure best in class team performance. Spread business acumen in the team. Manage the team budget and linkages with the rest of the organization. Planning and project tracking to ensure team delivers as per plans.
  • Reach timely completion of project deliverables, meeting performance and quality requirements. Manage the team and work in very close partnership with product managers, program integrators and chief engineers.
  • Look for, manage, coordinate and support improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and quality of the QA solutions developed by the team and by the extended development network including hosted SW functions in other areas.
  • Actively participate in the SW HUB staff. Influence and contribute to the continuous improvement of LFP lab strategies, processes and performance. Participate in LFP management team as part of the wider organization.

Responsibilities

  • Hiring and ramp-up the QA engineering team in Valencia office. Actively contributes to recruiting, hiring and ramping-up the QA engineering team in Valencia office

  • Manages part of the operational activities of the new offices

  • Provides direct and ongoing leadership for a team of individual contributors coordinating, managing, and leading programs to drive the engineering development and implementation of products and service offerings.

  • Manages headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.

  • Communicates project status and escalates issues to direct managers, program managers, and internal and external development partners.

  • Manages relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs; ensures that team members are effectively communicating and collaborating with outsourced resources.

  • Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement.

  • Provides people-care management for assigned team members, including hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; ensures that proper knowledge and career development tools are in place to support ongoing team member and process development.

Educational and Professional Experience:

This job requires a profile that combines solid technical knowledge, with deep understanding of GBU internal processes and ability to influence effectively many different stakeholders. Key requirements:

Solid technical background: engineering master degree (BA/MS Degree Computer Sciences, Telecommunications Engineering, Industrial engineering, or equivalent), >5 years in positions with high level of responsibility.

Quality Assurance: Large Format Design/Pro technology expertise: Deep knowledge of Design or Pro platforms, in as many areas as possible: HW, SW, color management, solutions. Experience in quality assurance processes and tools, workflow and cloud solutions using agile. Extensive experience in NPD functions with proven understanding of processes, roles and objectives, demonstrated multi-disciplinary team leadership

Leadership: A person who has natural leadership attributes, being already recognized as a leader in his/her organization. Ability to lead a team within stressful situations and inspire them. Highly motivated, results oriented and demonstrated senior people leadership.

Customer focus: person strongly capable of understanding customer needs and impact of business and technical decisions..

Influencer: strong negotiation skills and ability to influence many different stakeholders effectively (R&D, programs, Ops engineering, support organizations). Demonstrated success in collaboration with partners to build value. Experience developing firmware and software with external partners

Drive for results: Focus in execution to deliver results, pragmatic approach with an emphasis to remove roadblocks to make his/her team being effective

Strategic thinking: ability to devise long term needs and priorities for his/her team and how to match with business evolving needs. Entrepreneur mindset. Driver of change, ability to convince with rigor and facts as well as be the role model to drive new behaviors at all organizational levels

People management: Strong people management and interpersonal relationship skills: leadership, motivation, networking, teamwork, negotiation and communication. Typically 5 or more years of related work experience, including 3 -5 years of people management experience.
