Supply Chain & Operations is seeking to recruit a Consultant with strategy consulting experience in strategic cost reduction and/or sourcing & procurement projects. The Sourcing & Procurement community is one of the key components of Accenture’s Supply Chain & Operations service line within Accenture Strategy that operates across industry groups alongside Supply Chain & Fulfillment, and Operations & Process Transformation.

In our team you will learn to:

  • Use your judgment to solve complex business problems, bringing structure and rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques

  • Use rigorous analysis to address our clients’ business challenges and deliver lasting and distinctive outcomes and value

  • Develop knowledge of prevailing trends, financials and operating drivers across multiple industries, identifying industry-specific operating metrics and linking them to relevant financial metrics to identify the key value drivers for a client

  • Leverage digital / data analytics to create power insights to solve client problems

  • Make, build and sustain trusted client relationships

  • Support business development activities including opportunity identification/qualification and proposal development/presentation

  • Engage with the wider Strategy community in UKI to foster collaboration and support growth and development of the business

In this you will:

  • Deliver successful strategy engagements addressing our clients’ Sourcing & Procurement challenges, providing lasting and distinctive outcomes and value in disciplines such as:

    • Procurement Transformation (Operating Model, Process Design, etc.)

    • Strategic Cost Reduction (Zero Based Spend, Closed Loop Spend Management methodology, etc.)

    • Direct & Indirect Sourcing Optimisation

    • Intelligent Procurement (Technology Strategy, Technology Architecture, etc.)

    • Responsible and Resilient Procurement (Risk, Performance, Innovation, Diversity, Sustainability)

    • Mergers and Acquisitions (Pre and Post Merger Integration)

  • Help identify and structure key issues in order to develop hypotheses around possible solutions

  • Structure and create business/market assessments and identify appropriate tools to be used and analysis to be done

  • Develop and utilize industry knowledge to be able to make implementation-oriented recommendations

  • Maintain an understanding of advancements in technology and innovations which are happening across digital, analytics, the procurement ecosystem and broader marketplace

  • Develop business cases to identify, measure and realise enterprise value

  • Showcase ability to conduct primary and secondary research to unearth facts and generate actionable insights

  • Contribute towards building Accenture’s Supply Chain & Operations offerings, assets, capabilities, and thought leadership

  • We are looking for experience in the following:
  • Good experience at a top tier or boutique consulting firm or through an ‘in-house’ consulting / business development role with a particular focus on sourcing & procurement transformations, strategic cost reduction, intelligent procurement, responsible procurement or mergers & acquisitions

  • Familiarity with recognized Strategy frameworks and techniques

  • Experience of research, quantitative analysis, structured problem solving and executive communication techniques

  • Experience of building relationships at all levels in an organization, including with CPO or Procurement leaders, as well as Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain executives

  • A high-level understanding of how various industries operate including products, players, value chain business models, operating models, industry trends and challenges and regulatory frameworks

  • A robust understanding of core procurement & supply chain business capabilities

Academic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

  • Ability to understand complex issues, quickly absorb information, and work creatively in a problem solving environment

  • Comfort with the quantitative skills required to develop financial/operational models and perform data analysis

  • An appreciation of how technology and digital can contribute to solving clients’ complex business problems

  • Procurement technology and digital disruptor awareness, including but not limited to SAP Ariba, Coupa, Jaggaer, iValua, intelligent automation, Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain and analytics; other specific systems / applications relevant from previous experience

  • Functional experience should include some of the following: direct or indirect materials/SG&A (Technology, Marketing, Travel, Facilities, Professional Services, etc.) cost takeout, sourcing, procure-to-pay, contract & supplier management, third party risk management, sustainable procurement

  • Experience of staff development and mentoring

  • Confidence to articulate complex problems and solutions in a simple, logical and impactful manner with groups ranging from board rooms to business unit leads

  • Experience working in one or more of Financial Services, Energy, Utilities, High-Tech (including Aerospace & Defence), Communications, Media & Entertainment, Chemical & Natural Resources, Consumer Goods, Life Sciences and Logistics
