At Scania Production and Logistics IT, we play a key role in the digitalization of the P&L landscape and work with future technologies. With new & potential use cases in the pipeline, we are currently looking for a new Software Developer for our Smart Factory in Scania IT.

You will get to work with the latest technologies out there and continuously improve our processes and deliverables. We will never limit your creativity, never shut down ideas before testing them and we will never be boring!


We are

A team of four people in the Smart Factory IT group with competencies in Data Science and Cloud technologies, among others. The team is responsible for driving the digitalization journey from the IT perspective. We collaborate extensively with internal and external parties to identify current and future business needs within the Smart Factory domain. We use an agile approach to develop Proof of Concepts, which we evaluate in our Smart Lab facility and hand them over to an implementation team based on their feasibility. We work closely with a sister team of nine members placed in the engineering department and consciously cooperate with other teams within Scania & the Volkswagen group all over the world with similar goals and competencies.

You will
Work in a rather unique software development team that has T-shaped skills. You will work in a hybrid role where you will contribute with software development skills as a developer and also explore the potential of Machine Learning and AI. You will be an active member of the Smart Factory Lab facility to understand and test some of the products and devices from a software perspective. You will play a key role in developing use cases to make proof of concepts and also get to shape the roadmap for Smart Factory. You will take a fail-fast approach to create a proof of concepts in-house or with external partners and evaluate their feasibility. You will create a good network within and outside Scania to keep yourself up-to-date with technology trends and to identify potential use cases within our business areas. You will work with excellent engineers and have the opportunity to make a real impact on our way of working, vision, and digitalization targets.


You are

  • A software developer with experience as a full stack developer, preferably in developing and evaluating PoCs
  • Skilled in cloud technologies, preferably in AWS
  • Knowledge in EBBA or DIDRIK is merited
  • A person with a broad skillset to develop end to end software and willing to do what it takes
  • Hands-on with devices and have a general knowledge of connectivity
  • You want to learn and grow in the Data Science domain and do not mind working in the lower levels of the AI hierarchy of needs
  • Experienced in at least some of the tools in our tech stack, which includes Python, Influx, Grafana, Node-Red, Node, C# (.Net core, WPF), Angular, MQTT, Kafka, Rest, AWS managed services, Docker, Kubernetes, Gitlab, Terraform, Serverless Framework
  • Knowledge/experience in IoT and CI/CD is a merit
