Simulation & Analytics Manager (m/f/d)

The purpose of this position is to develop and leverage mathematical optimization models for Crop Protection, Row Crop and Vegetable Seeds, but
also to evaluate and deploy machine learning models in Supply Chain Management. This role reports to the global head of Supply Chain Simulation &
Analytics and you will promote advanced data-driven decision making in cooperation with operational Supply Chain functions, regional Supply Chain
analytics teams, global Supply Chain excellence teams, and IT decision science, but also commercial and finance organization. By providing data driven
insights, and smart recommendations to the global Supply Chain community, you will contribute to significantly improved supply, inventory and cost
situation.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive the further development and implementation of the SC Simulation & Analytics strategy
  • Lead major initiatives including rolling out existing models to other business areas so that high quality results as well as expected financial
    targets are achieved
  • Identify and implement innovations in SC Simulation & Analytics by scouting new technologies and algorithms such as artificial intelligence and
    blockchain and assessing business potentials
  • Take responsibility for simulation & analytics activities, e.g. allocations, make-or-buy decisions, long-term capacity reviews and network design
    and drive continuous improvement through exploratory E2E diagnostic analytics in collaboration with CoEs
  • Act as a strategic advisor for data-driven strategic initiatives with responsibility for related simulation, optimisation and analysis activities including
    presentation of results and conclusions to higher management levels
  • Providing business support for SC Simulation & Analytics applications
  • Lead the SC Simulation & Analytics community within SC, PS, but also with other functions, IT and other departments
  • Promote data-driven thinking and decision-making within the global SC and PS community, and increase the application of decision suggestions
    provided by algorithms within and outside the SC and PS community

WHO YOU ARE

  • Master degree in supply chain management, mathematics, economics, engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of statistics, operations research, supply chain processes and systems and in project management with many years of
    professional experience, including several years in crop protection and seed sectors
  • Sound IT skills, e.g. ERP, SCM, BW, SQL, optimisation, simulation or artificial intelligence software
  • Strong analytical skills in analyzing complex global issues and deriving necessary conclusions and actions
  • Ability to work at a detailed level and align activities with strategy and objectives
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, persuasiveness and the ability to influence and build credibility across all levels of management
  • Ability to lead large cross-functional global project teams within a diverse organization and deliver compelling results
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken; other languages are an advantage
