Digital Finance works with clients to address mission critical issues for the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), creating value and delivering world-class future finance capabilities, leveraging the EY brand as impartial, trusted advisors.

You will work in multi-disciplinary teams for some of the biggest and most recognised corporate brands in the world, applying the latest technologies and analytical methods, to help drive their business performance and digital finance transformation agendas that make a real difference to our working world.

A growth area for us is Agile Business Finance (ABF) – enabling a disciplined, cross-functional implementation approach designed to help CFOs realize the benefits of all new technologies with the focus on building finance capabilities.

You will build strong relationships within client organisations, working with them to understand their most critical business problems and priorities, consulting with your EY peers to evaluate, design, and deliver solution options that leverage cutting edge technologies.

  • Articulate, design, and implement a vision for Finance and “case for change” that draws on innovative global technology trends, leading practice and service innovation
  • Understand, define and articulate all (7) Finance Operating Model dimensions
  • Conduct accelerated finance diagnostic, maturity assessment and benchmarking
  • Identify strategic alignment across IT, finance and tax operating models including steering and reporting requirements
  • Discuss finance simplification and innovation through global business services (GBS) and Robotic Process Automation (RPA)
  • Standardising, simplifying and automating processes and controls
  • Define client-relevant use of modern technology platforms such as S/4HANA showing its key functionalities, data models and technical requirements
  • Provide roadmap of implementation and ROI timeline (cost vs. benefits)
  • Support end-to-end implementation services for S/4HANA, accelerators and emerging technologies
  • Structure and run Finance transformation programmes using AGILE design and delivery methods
  • Experience in managing projects using technology
  • Experience of a Finance Systems Strategy and how to support a client in creating a strategy
  • Experience of Reporting technologies to include Tagetik / Anaplan and similar
  • Understanding of Consolidation programmes for clients including the Financial accounting that underpins a Consolidation activity.
  • Adopt “digital” ways of working to increase flexibility and accelerate delivery:
  • Plan, design, and execute design-led thinking process re-engineering workshops
  • Process design grounded in customer outcomes and user experience adopting LEAN methodologies and automation technologies
  • Structure and implement Agile delivery methods
  • Understand and apply relevant technologies such as:
  • SAP S/4HANA – Functional Knowledge of S4 Hana Finance
  • Business Application Knowledge of S4 Hana Finance Blackline
  • Have run Programmes deploying SAP ECC and or S4
  • Intelligent Automation: Robotic Process Automation/ Machine Learning/ Artificial Intelligence/ Blockchain
  • Process Mining Tools
  • Cloud Finance ERP’s such as D365, Netsuite, Oracle Fusion etc
  • Hyperion, Onestream, Tagetik etc.

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • A valid and certified professional accounting qualification
  • Experience of solution design for complex multi-national businesses
  • Expert proficiency in your chosen market or sector
  • Experience of having run large technology enabled finance programmes
  • Proven ability to engage, manage and build relationships

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • A background in management consulting or have delivered large scale Agile Business Finance programmes in PNM (Private National Markets)
  • Ability to create solutions to technical problems
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to storyboard and create high quality outputs
  • Excellent problem solving, facilitation, and presentation skills
  • Track record of line managing professional services staff, including coaching and developing staff

Your key responsibilities

You will advise our clients and manage our teams to deliver large scale, complex, GBS programmes. This could include leading on:

  • Conducting a current-state diagnostic of the back-office, assessing level of maturity against leading practice
  • Defining the GBS vision and strategy
  • Developing the target operating model
  • Building a business case and roadmap for implementation
  • Conducting the location assessment and selection process for the GBS centre/s
  • Conducting detailed design of the future state GBS and retained organisation structure
  • Conducting detailed design of the future state processes, including the application of leading edge technology solutions to drive optimisation
  • Selecting and implementing new technologies
  • Managing transition of activity into the GBS centre
  • Change management and communications
  • Developing a service management framework, including SLAs, the governance structure, and escalation paths
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities for transforming existing GBS organisations

You will run the engagement in a way that is compliant with EYs quality and risk processes, working to enhance EYs reputation with the client

You will manage the project financials, ensuring that the financial targets for the engagement are met

You will build relationships at senior levels within client organisations, helping them to deliver their Finance and GBS transformation programmes through exceptional client service

You will identify further revenue growth opportunities for EY

  • Understand the latest trends in GBS, including how digital disruption is shaping the future
  • Understand how the latest digital technologies can be applied to drive process transformation and maturity across the back-office, both within and outside of a GBS organisation
  • Have deep knowledge of the Finance function, ideally coupled with some understanding of other corporate functions such as Procurement and HR
  • Bring leading practice ideas and solutions when working with clients to develop their GBS strategy and target operating model, and be able to reference examples from other organisations
  • Understand how GBS organisations are governed, including the latest trends in service management
  • Adopt “digital” ways of working to increase flexibility and accelerate delivery; for example:
  • Apply a more agile, design-led thinking, approach to developing the target operating model
  • Apply a data driven approach to understanding the current issues and opportunities (e.g. use of process mining)
  • Taking a customer experience led approach to process design
  • Using screen capture and voice recording tools to support transition of activity virtually
  • Understand the capability of technologies such as:
  • ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle)
  • Service Management tools (e.g. Service Now)
  • Automation tools (e.g. Blue Prism, UIPath)
  • End-to-end process automation tools (e.g. Blackline, Basware)
  • Analytic tools (e.g. PowerBI)

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • A valid and certified professional accounting qualification
  • Experience in implementing and transforming GBS organisations, or have been in a senior operational roles within a GBS with exposure to project management
  • Experience of business development and solution design for complex multi-national businesses
  • Expert proficiency in your chosen market or sector
  • Experience of delivering change programmes within a finance function and GBS organisation
  • Strong client relationships and a proven track record of originating and selling new projects
  • Proven ability to engage, manage and build senior relationships

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • A background in management consulting or have delivered large scale GBS transformation programmes in industry
  • Ability to create solutions to technical problems
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to storyboard and create high quality outputs
