Your Role and Responsibilities
The world of Data and AI is a fascinating one. Data is the natural resource of the 21st Century. But without the right interpretation, its value cannot be unlocked. Acquiring this resource, storing it effectively, and making it available in the right places at the right times to provide valuable business insights are some of the most crucial tasks of todays IT departments. Without the right IT Infrastructure and strategy, companies will fail to make the best out of this potential.Are you interested in consulting your clients on how they can store their data in the most cost and performance efficient way, to process this data on high-end Power and Mainframe servers and to provide resiliency to the whole architecture, then IBM can offer you an exciting position in our Business Development team. You will handle marketing generated leads for a diverse set of companies ranging from start-ups to the top DAX companies. By talking to different lines of business you will identify and qualify possible business opportunities and work together with field sales in the market and Business Partner to generate revenue for IBM.

Responsibilities for this role include:

  • Validating Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) primarily originating from digital inbound and marketing campaigns and generating Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs) for “selling pods” and channel partners
  • Executing outbound business development activities for specific offerings with an emphasis on cross-selling and upselling to IBM clients
  • Putting your client first, being prepared to tackle challenges, solve problems, and work with your cross-functional team of subject matter experts to get things done
  • Canvassing and developing target accounts (including new customers, commercial (SME) and enterprise)
  • Company profiling (Target Accounts) The DDR responsible for profiling named accounts. In close collaboration with the sales team, he/she will provide insight into target accounts, structure and priorities so that the sales teams can point their efforts most effectively.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience in lead generation/business development
  • Technical knowledge in Storage and Server Technology
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a strong focus on client satisfaction
  • The ability to have a business conversations across all levels
  • Proven ability to leverage resources throughout the business to solve complex problems
  • Skilled in customer account management (and use of CRM tools like Atlas).
  • Results-driven, collaborative team player attitude
  • Native/fluent German and fluent English language


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Passion for technology and the ability to understand the B2B tech market
