We are a young, dynamic and rapidly growing laboratory. We interact with the most creative and renowned academic and industrial players (national and international) in the field. Your work will have a direct and visible impact on the state of the art and practices in the field of next-generation distributed systems, such as blockchains, Web3 and new decentralized technologies.
As a Research Engineer in Intelligent and Trusted Distributed Systems for the LICIA laboratory, you have the opportunity to transform the needs and requirements of disruptive decentralized applications into structured solutions while allowing the development of new high-value technological components.
In this role, we expect you to design positive impact blockchain solutions for industry and society within our research and innovation projects.
Your responsibilities will mainly cover the following topics:
  • You will be responsible for one (or more) research and innovation project(s) within the laboratory
  • You will take responsibility for certain elements of the planned research, with the aim of contributing to the dissemination and publication of the results obtained in conferences, workshops, journals.
  • You will be responsible for one (or more) internship and/or Ph.D. student(s) within the laboratory
  • You will be involved in the technological development (e.g. specification, architecture, prototyping) of laboratory’s assets (blockchain algorithms, smart contracts, incentive mechanisms, tokenization, decentralized identity and oracles, distributed storage systems).


Profil du candidat

You hold a Ph.D. degree in computer science or computer engineering in the field of distributed systems, or you have an equivalent experience, e.g. you have master’s degree in science, mathematics or computer science alongside a strong involvement in the realization of a major technological project in the field of intelligent, decentralized systems on a large scale.
Technical Skills :
  • Excellent understanding of blockchain fundamentals such as smart contracts, consensus algorithms (Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Byzantine fault-tolerant algorithms, PBFT, etc.)
  • Good understanding of blockchain frameworks such as Tendermint, Hyperledger Fabric, Ethereum (Solidity), Tezos
  • Good understanding of the use of cryptography mechanisms in the context of blockchains
  • Programming experience in one or more general languages (Java, C++, Python, JS, Rust).

Soft Skills :
  • Ability to know how to organize oneself with intermediate milestones and concrete results
  • Good communication skills and fluency in English is a necessary prerequisite
Ability to organize work with collaborators in a consensual manner.
