The Partner Technical Specialist (PTS) is a technical sales role with deep technical expertise that is assigned to Partners based on revenue and growth potential. The PTS creates and maintains the trusted advisor relationships with partners to drive successful outcomes, participating in strategic technical discussions and helps shape their technical agenda towards IBM’s strategic offerings and technology. The Partner Technical Specialist leads technical efforts for IBM’s ecosystem and collaborates internally across IBM’s technical experts to identify components and design robust and winning solutions based on IBM Technology.

Your Role and Responsibilities

IBM is currently seeking a Partner Technical Specialist for IBM Power. This role is responsible for driving ecosystem sales of IBM’s Power technology for the Spanish market.

As a partner-facing technical sales professional, you will become an essential part of the IBM strategy, driving partners to incorporate and embed IBM technology into their reference architectures, practices, and solutions. You will be in charge of increasing Partners technical expertise for demonstrating and deploying IBM Technology at scale through their sales and technical sellers, playing a key role in growing the capability and capacity of the overall IBM Partners ecosystem.

It is expected to actively participate in the opportunity identification process, collaborating and working closely with the IBM Ecosystem and Technology sales teams to ensure that partner revenue objectives meet regularly

As Partner Technical Specialist for the Power brand, you will Assist partners in proposing solutions to modernize their core IT assets taking advantage of new IBM Power technical capabilities and features. Yo will also perform these tasks:

  • Own the technical relationship with partners and work to establish a reputation as a deeply trusted technology expert, and shape partner’s technical agenda toward IBM’s Power offerings
  • Facilitates pre-sales technical activities, e.g., joint proof of technology and demonstration between partners and IBM
  • Leads delivery of partner joint-learning activities to build technical skills and expertise of partners to enable co-sell and co-build motions
  • Apply IBM brand strategies, methods and models to ensure world-class design and delivery


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

IT Bachelors degree. IT experience working in a role that is supporting IT infrastructure and working with operating systems such as AIX, HP-UX or Linux.

Well organised, structured and able to articulate an IT solution to a technical audience.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Technical aptitude with ability to understand and succinctly communicate an IT technical solution.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Experience with IBM Power Systems is desirable.

Experience in a technical pre-sales role is desirable.
