We have exciting part-time lecturing roles in a variety of areas:

  • Business Intelligence, Data Analytics: these are daytime hours on a face-to-face programme delivered during the daytime to undergraduate students.
  • Blockchain for Business: this is an exciting new Professional Diploma we are in the process of launching. This runs online during the evening time, from 6:30pm to 9:30pm.
  • Psychology: these are a number of individual programmes within the field of psychology, running online in our Professional Diploma School. They run online between 6:30pm and 9:30pm.
  • Book-Keeping & Payroll: due to increased demand we are extending the frequency with which we due this Professional Diploma. The computer applications used are Sage and Xero. They run online between 6:30pm and 9:30pm.

Responsibilities:


Teaching

  • Deliver lectures and tutorials aligned with prescribed learning outcomes.
  • Prepare learning materials for class use, aligned with prescribed learning outcomes.
  • Prepare, mark, and feedback to learners on assessment work using the appropriate feedback templates.
  • Being available outside of class hours to provide appropriate academic guidance to students.
  • Attend and contribute to student induction events, where appropriate.
  • Attend and contribute to Examination Boards, Programme Boards and School meetings where appropriate.
  • Ensure assessment is complete, andd marks are available for Internal Examination Meetings and Examination Boards.
  • Adhere to deadlines set by the School.
  • Liaise with the Programme Administrator Manager on administrative aspects of the programme(s).
  • Liaise with the Programme Director on academic aspects of the programme(s), including ongoing academic evolution of the programme(s).
  • Liaise with other Departments (e.g. Registrar’s Office, Exam’s Office) and staff as appropriate.
  • Contribute where possible to supplemental lecturing e.g. providing cover for a colleague on sick leave.

Programme Development

  • Contribute to ongoing programme monitoring and review
  • Contribute to the design of new programmes and modules as appropriate

General

  • Contribute, if required to various College Committees
  • .Supervise projects and dissertations when appropriate.
  • Perform other duties, appropriate to the position, as may be decided by the Head of School from time to time.

Requirements for the position:

  • Applicants are required to be appropriately qualified academically, holding a qualification above the level at which they are being appointed to teach.
  • A Masters level qualification in the area the applicant is appointed to teach is required for Undergraduate lecturing.
  • Business or industry experience is highly desirable.
  • A teaching qualification is highly desirable.
