About us

The DevOps System Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of infrastructure and deployment processes. The ideal candidate will assist the Lisk project in configuring and orchestrating its entire development infrastructure, with experience in automating infrastructure and deployment processes.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Servers & Network connectivity.
  • Use and improve monitoring systems
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines into the software development lifecycle
  • Manage infrastructure, ensuring scalability, availability, and security
  • Ensure compliance with industry-standard security practices and regulations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in DevOps, software development, or system administration
  • Good knowledge of GNU/Linux, ideally Ubuntu LTS
  • Understanding of networking and distributed applications
  • Experience with configuration management and orchestration systems, ideally Ansible or Terraform
  • Understanding of continuous integration, ability to work with Jenkins
  • Ability to work with:
    • monitoring systems, ideally Grafana, Nagios/Check_MK, Prometheus,
    • web servers and reverse proxies like Apache, Nginx or HAProxy,
      git, GitHub.
  • Fluency in some scripting language, ideally bash or python


Nice-to-have

  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, DigitalOcean) and virtualization (KVM)
  • Knowledge of docker, docker-compose, podman
  • Experience with database administration (MySQL)
  • Extensive knowledge of network protocols (e.g. HTTP/S, web sockets) and their use
  • Implement and maintain logging system using ELK or Graylog (any)
  • Exposure to node.js
  • Experience with blockchain technology, e.g. Bitcoin, Ethereum
  • Notable open-source code contributions
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
