.NET Lead Developer – Contractor

Deloitte has an exciting opportunity for a .NET Lead Developer to join the Systems and Cloud Engineering consulting team. In this role, you will be working with a large public sector client and will be required to communicate and liaise with Business and IT stakeholders (Architects, Business Analysts, Developers, Production Support, Release and Environment Management) when working on and delivering digital solutions. In addition to this you will be required to understand our client’s core business domain, and work with business stakeholders so strong communication and collaboration skills will be vitally important.

The Opportunity
Technology Consulting | Systems Integration
Deloitte has exciting career opportunities for a .NET Development Lead. The purpose of this role is to help clients realise the business value from IT. Using the latest technologies, you will be continually encouraged to devise innovative solutions, to help our clients manage and deliver the operational elements of technology.
Responsibilities:
  • Architect design patterns and lead practices including implementation of non-functional requirements, specifically regarding the design of hybrid cloud solutions
  • Design and development of technical solutions based on the Microsoft Platform;
  • Lead implementations in developing core components of a technical architecture;
  • Work with stakeholders to help define business requirements for complex systems based on outlined strategic technology platforms;
  • Support multiple project teams in software engineering best practice;
  • Work with Microsoft Azure cloud technologies (Application Insights, Cloud Services, Storage Services, Redis Cache, Service Bus Relay & Queueing, Active Directory, high availability configurations, operational knowledge of Windows Azure consoles);
  • Design and development of third-party identity and claim providers (e.g. Thinktecture);
  • Design, Develop and configure key architectural components such as:
  • Rest API design and development/Web API
  • Graph API (reporting and data management)
  • Windows Workflow as part of a claim provider (Azure cloud service)
  • Search Engine Optimisation configuration and code deployment
  • Develop custom tools for the management of Azure AD; web design of user experience with bootstrap, LESS, HTML5, CSS3, JQuery, Knockout.js, ASP.Net/C# (MVC);
  • Develop and configure performance test suites;
  • A knowledge of or experience in the following would be advantageous;
  • Configuration and setup of software development environments, in particular a continuous integration environment;
  • Writing automated scripts using PowerShell;
  • Problem, Incident and Event Management processes & procedures (i.e. dealing with outages or environment issues);
  • Tools and technologies in the following areas:
  • Source Control
  • Continuous Integration
  • Infrastructure Automation
  • Deployment Automation & Orchestration
  • Container Concepts
About you:
  • Third level qualification in Computer Science/Engineering or a related discipline
  • Must have a minimum of seven (7) years IT experience with at least three (4) years in a .NET enterprise environment
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle as it pertains to the .Net framework and digital transformation solutions; management and support of the Microsoft IDE product set i.e. Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server;
  • Proven experience delivering solutions in an Agile environment with knowledge of Scrum processes including sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives and Application Lifecycle Management in a .NET environment;
  • Demonstrated strong leadership capability and proven experience as a best practice advisor across software engineering, architecture, security and data governance;
  • Proven experience as a developer of applications which use claims-based authentication and open authentication standards such as OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect;
