Your Role and Responsibilities

QRadar L2 EMEA Support is looking for software engineers to join the team. Working an alternative working week including both weekend days, you will monitor and support all incoming cases during this period as part of our IBM Security Threat Management technical support organisation. We also welcome students with relevant university background that are striving to learn and expand their skills within the Cyber Security industry, as we offer in-depth training in development.

As a L2 QRadar Security Engineer you will be an integral part of our WW Support team. You will be involved in supporting IBM QRadar – a Leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Security Information and Event Management (SIEM).

You will gain exposure to a wide range of Security technologies, working with some of the world’s top network and security experts, to expand your knowledge in the ever-expanding Cyber Security realm. You will find a challenging role with great personal rewards gained when assisting in solving mission critical situations for some of the largest multinational companies globally.

  • Become a technical subject matter expert for Qradar SIEM
  • Analyze customer problems and service requests and resolve them within agreed service levels
  • Use troubleshooting/ debugging techniques and tools to analyze technical problems
  • Engage development teams for issues that need a resolution through code fixes
  • Increase IBM’s Self-Help knowledge base, by creating knowledge articles wherever needed
  • Provide feedback to the development team on product feature enhancements

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Customer-driven mindset – you are an advocate for Customers
  • Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux Operating systems (Red Hat Preferred)
  • Hands-on experience in network related troubleshooting\\administration\\tools (eg Wireshark)
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Excellent problem-solving, written/verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Certification in AWS, Azure, VMWare, IBM Cloud
  • Experience with Security tools such as QRadar, Rational AppScan, Guardium, Trend Micro, McAfee ePO
  • Experience with firewalls and intrusion prevention/detection systems
  • Red Hat Admin and/ or OpenShift Certification
  • Working knowledge of Python
