Your Role and Responsibilities

Being a part of a large multi-international organization working with various OS platforms utilizing newest technology. The system support specialist role includes providing administration tasks for Linux systems: provisioning new servers and applications, managing and maintaining according to internal standards in support of business processing requirements. Installing, upgrading OS middleware and applications in accordance with internal policy. Cooperating with application developers, analyzing systems architecture and defining system requirements Monitoring events and system load, seeking tuning opportunities, proposing software and hardware solutions. Ensuring systems consistency and recoverability. Cooperating with other team members and internal/external teams to achieve the highest possible performance. Completing OS, middleware systems and application documentation and necessary procedures. In this role, you’ll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Very good knowledge of Linux systems (Red Hat preferred)
• Server virtualization techniques knowledge
• Task automation knowledge (ansible)
• Familiarity with network solutions (TCP/IP base)
• Network and supporting services knowledge: (http server, DNS, mail services, logs ,web/rev proxy)
• Storage strategies and implementations knowledge
• Scripting, programming languages knowledge
• High availability solutions knowledge
• Track record in delivering results

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Cloud solution knowledge (IaaS,PaaS,SaaS models)
• Containerized environments knowledge (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
