apetito is continuing with an ambitious and exciting digital transformation and is looking for a talented and enthusiastic graduate to join the team as a graduate Integration & Data Engineer, to be based in our Trowbridge offices.

We are no stranger to innovation, having won the queens award for enterprise for innovation and pushed boundaries with our world first dementia-friendly dining food. We are now looking for someone to join our IT team with a view to building on this success and enhancing our innovative offering within IT.

This role will expose the successful candidate to software projects of varying size and complexity, primarily cloud based in a retail environment, working with our customers to provide them with new, innovative integration solutions that help them to successfully meet their business goals. Additionally, there will be opportunities to work with key immerging technologies such as AI, Machine learning and Blockchain. Key areas where development will be focused on are retail, customer service and customer self-service.

You will have the chance to find opportunities within the business and further afield to introduce prototype solutions and test ideas that help us reach our goals. While you will be called upon to create bespoke software solutions with the help of your team, you will also be expected to evaluate existing products in the market and decide appropriate direction.

Some prior experience with Integration and data platforms would be an advantage, however the successful candidate will be provided with training and will work as part of a larger development team. We are looking for someone who has the aptitude, desire and enthusiasm to want to achieve within this sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Agile champion – an ambassador for best practice
  • Design, develop and test integration solutions in a fast-paced agile environment, ensuring you utilise your talent and experience to the full
  • Developing existing applications by identifying areas for modification
  • Integration of existing software
  • Maintain systems by monitoring and correcting software defects
  • Working closely with the business and all members of the digital transformation team, collaboration is critical for success
  • In addition to delivering digital products and solutions you will be keeping abreast of the latest industry trends, making recommendations where necessary, investigating recent technologies, having ideas and being creative
  • Able to challenge, constructively
  • Investigate new technologies by building prototypes and attending industry conferences.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

Essential:
  • You will have graduated or be studying towards a degree in computing or computer science with a focus on software development with the expectation that you will receive a 2:2 or above. Graduating on or before August 2023.

Desirable:
  • Previous work experience in an IT environment.
  • Have a passion for IT and have completed integration/data based tasks or assignments at University or in spare time.
  • Previous exposure to development using .NET
  • Previous experience with Integration and data platforms
  • Knowledge of agile best practices
  • A GitHub profile or technical blog to showcase your skills.

  • You must have strong analytical skills, good attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • You will need to be a confident, outgoing person with an interest in helping others and learning about how apetito operates.
  • Able to challenge constructively and be comfortable putting forward your views even when it you may be in the minority.
  • An agile mindset – an open, collaborative and flexible approach to delivering your work.
  • Able to demonstrate a structured approach to work as well as being able to work well in team environment and deal with people professionally at all levels
  • Self-motivated and able to own and manage workload with minimal supervision – a proven self-starter
  • Has a passion for speaking to business users and asking relevant questions to ascertain the user’s problem.
