Our interdisciplinary team digitalization develops solutions to improve performance, quality, and safety of chemical plants. We apply physically based models in combination with machine learning tools to create models to describe specific phenomena, unit operations or entire chemical plants.
As part of your internship, you will analyze plant or/and lab data using Python or equivalent tools, and work on the development of hybrid models that combine machine learning and physically based modeling.
You will get to know state of the art methods for process modeling and simulation in the chemical industry and actively work on further development in an international team.
You will gain insights into current projects in our department and have an opportunity to develop further in a professional exchange with colleagues.
Master’s studies in chemical engineering or in related fields, e.g. Engineering, Physics, Data Science or Applied mathematics
good programming skills in at least one of: Python, AMPL, GAMS, gPROMS, MATLAB, Mathematica
open-minded and enthusiastic spirit, able to work in a team and learn new skills
The internship may be followed by a master’s thesis.
