Attributes of an Intelligence Researcher:

  • Autonomous and able to work with little supervision.
  • Skilled in research and collation.
  • Tenacity and diligence.
  • Ability to follow all leads through to their natural end, sometimes this involves abstract thinking in order to find the answer.
  • Able to present findings clearly, in client-facing reports.
  • Be smart and presentable as some aspects of the job are client-facing.

Roles and responsibilities:

Under supervision from the Team Leader, the Intelligence Researcher will:

  • conduct open source and social media research;
  • carry out due diligence and investigative tasks;
  • interrogate paid-for databases, such as Land Registry;
  • prepare accurate and concise reports; and
  • occasionally review data sets.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Have relevant work experience, which might be from an investigative background, political risk analysis, or journalism.
  • Have a good understanding / interest in the Principles of Intelligence.
  • Educated to degree level (desirable, but not mandatory).
  • A second language (desirable but not mandatory).
  • Experience with i2 Analyst Notebook (advantageous but not mandatory).
