Service Line: Assurance

The assurance team within our practice is committed to excellence, providing specialist advisory services such as Business Assurance (blockchain, emerging external reporting), complex accounting assurance, accounting operations assurance and disruptive events assurance.
Your role:
Deloitte Financial Reporting Advisory Services is a client facing team. We pro-actively identify financial reporting matters and provide practical advice to our clients in relation to:
  • Complex accounting requirements under IFRS, US GAAP, and UK /Irish GAAP;
  • The impact of emerging financial accounting standards such as IFRS 17, ASC 842 and ESG reporting requirements;
  • Group restructuring and M&A transactions;
  • Tax accounting support;
  • Providing accounting assistance on complex accounting matters such as (but not limited to);
    • Revenue recognition;
    • Leasing and other financing arrangements;
    • Share based payments;
    • Mergers & Acquisitions including Due Diligence services;
    • Establishment of joint ventures and other investing arrangements;
    • Business combination accounting
The Financial Reporting Advisory Senior Associate will report to and support the Partners, Directors, Senior Managers, and Managers to grow new and existing opportunities through the delivery of financial reporting advisory services.
As this is a relatively newly formed team of financial reporting advisors, this provides the ideal candidate with a unique opportunity to advance their career and further develop their professional skillset from the following core responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain an up to date knowledge of financial reporting matters and regulations with an ability to apply this knowledge to practical and commercial situations
  • Work closely with our clients’ and assist in maintaining and developing key client relationships
  • Support the coordination and coaching of junior team members to ensure their personal development and that standards are consistently maintained throughout the entire engagement process
  • Support the team to develop new business opportunities and assist with related proposal processes
  • Take full responsibility for leading client engagements and appropriately managing the respective budgets
  • Take responsibility for ensuring each client engagement is performed to our high-quality standard
  • Deliver and prepare comprehensive training and support materials for on-site client training programmes/workshops
  • Actively help to develop high quality collateral on financial reporting matters for presenting to clients, conferences and publications
  • Maintain Deloitte’s reputation for leading quality within the accounting industry and marketplace

Your professional experience:

Essential:
  • Significant accounting experience in a large accountancy firm and be a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA)
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS / FRS 102
  • An ability to perform effective research and convert complex accounting matters into clear and comprehensible deliverables
  • Be logical but also have a solutions-focused approach to addressing financial reporting matters while achieving compliance with standards
  • High degree of initiative, dependability and ability to work independently on multiple engagements and in a fast-paced environment
  • Good project and time management skills
  • Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
