The research and teaching area of IT security, in which our university has been a leader in Europe for over 20 years, plays a central role in the new Faculty. This is also reflected in the Cluster of Excellence CASA (www.casa.rub.de), which is funded as part of the Federal Government’s Excellence Initiative, in which over 100 researchers develop effective measures against cyberattacks.
