Opera is seeking another lawyer to join our legal department!

We are seeking a candidate to provide hands on legal support for various corporate processes and in particular our growing European financial services business. Tasks will include but are not limited to:

  • Regulatory: managing regulatory processes relating to our licenses and supporting our development teams in ensuring that our products comply with applicable regulatory requirements;
  • Corporate: supporting corporate projects within the Opera group of companies;
  • Advisory: advising our business and compliance teams on applicable law;
  • Contracting: managing contract negotiations and related processes; and
  • Reporting: reporting and keeping the group’s General Counsel informed of the progress of the foregoing tasks.


  • Currently licensed to practice law in an EU/EEA jurisdiction;
  • Fluent in English including legal terminology;
  • 5 or more years of legal experience in the financial services and/or crypto currency industry; and
  • Knowledge of and experience working with several of the following: consumer lending, PSD2, AML directives, cryptocurrency regulation, and GDPR
  • Experience working with financial services offerings in Spain, Germany or Poland, or with crypto currency offerings in general, would be particularly advantageous and should be described
