SUPAIR banen voor ingenieurs, started as a TU Delft initiative. We have over 24 years of experience when it comes to connecting engineers to companies in all sorts of technical sectors. The company
This growing company in the Amsterdam area has a mission: to accelerate the global transition towards 100% renewable, clean energy supply. They are specialised in system integration and smart energy services. Some examples of their projects include a local microgrid at an event location, the largest wind-powered battery in the Netherlands and smart charging of 31 electrical busses.

They go beyond programming algorithms for smart grids. They develop Smart Building Platforms for real estate solutions, and there is an Energy Exchange solutions that utilizes blockchain technology. On top of that they have a team of energy specialist that can support the realisation of cutting-edge smart energy projects.

The job
You will be integrating robust control systems to optimize several energy systems: for example renewable energy power plants and battery storage systems. This is not a one person job; data scientists, software developers, and power systems engineers are also involved. Together you will be defining functional requirements, developing integrated system designs, design the control architecture and specify communication protocols/device interfaces.

Some of the tasks you’ll be involved in:

  • Developing control algorithms and data logging interfaces for cloud-based control and monitoring.
  • Designing and implementing controllers for a wide range of energy management functions.
  • Contributing to innovation and R&D projects in smart-grids and energy management technologies

Next to a set of good technical skills, the team is looking for someone who is innovative and passionate about finding optimal solutions and solving complex challenges. Most of all, they need someone who is highly motivated to join them on their mission to accelerate the sustainable energy transition.

Job requirements

  • TU, discipline Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Good in-depth understanding of Control Engineering and all its aspects
  • Good knowledge of Python and/or C#
  • Knowledge of PID control mechanisms
  • A high attention to detail
  • A proactive problem solver
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written
  • Dutch language skills are an advantage
