Central Product Group OU (CPG OU)

Director – Software Engineering, Blockchain, an engineering leader who is passionate about building blockchain applications, with a genuine interest in Web3, DeFi and digital assets.

• Own the delivery of blockchain applications, help develop requirements and specs for product builds
• Attract and retain a team of great humans that are responsible for the design, coding, and integration of new and innovative blockchain products
• Build an engineering culture that is highly collaborative working with multi-functional teams (product, design, compliance & legal)
• Passionate about exploring new technologies and helping the broader organization understand how they could apply to our business
• Facilitate great discussions, remove blockers and collaborate with other teams to continuously improve engineering and product development practices for the broader team
• Grow and shape your team by hiring and developing plans for their careers, setting both short- and long-term goals
• Communicate the vision from senior management and set and communicate business objectives for your team that align with this vision.

• Previous experience hiring, growing, and leading a team of blockchain experts
• Track record of reliably shipping and scaling high-quality products where you set the technical vision and direction
• Hands-on experience, developing at least one blockchain application/ product, including coding standards, documentation, code reviews, build processes, testing, and operations
• Proven ability of leading and running highly productive multi-functional engineering teams
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other functional areas at all levels of the organization
• Can communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Proven ability to lead a large, and/or distributed team that includes other managers
• Can empower team members to succeed in a fast-paced team environment; is a calming influence on the team in the face of strong pressures to meet deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, consistently displays excellent presentation skills

Some combination of the following:

• Tech Stack: JavaScript/ TypeScript, React, Python, Node, GO, Blockchain, Consensus Algorithms, Web3, Blockchain infrastructure
• Experience building applications on one or more of the following: Hyperledger Fabric, ConsenSys, R3, Ethereum
• Experience of writing, testing, and deploying smart contracts (Daml, Solidity)
• Experience of integrating Web2 applications and data services with blockchain apps via Oracles
