Recent work completed by the team includes:
We were instructed in respect of a dispute between Russian owners of a business in the cryptocurrency sector. We assisted our client in reaching a settlement whereby he acquired the entire business.
We were instructed in respect of another shareholder dispute regarding a Russian insurance business. The dispute is on-going.
We were instructed in respect of claims brought by holders of certain financial instruments against the past owners of a Russian bank and related entities. We successfully resisted the jurisdiction of the English courts in the dispute.
Following the COVID pandemic, our client’s business in the aviation industry was interrupted resulting in potential disputes with various counterparties. We were instructed in early 2020 by the client and have since then have assisted the client in reaching amicable settlements with all of the counterparties, resulting in substantive payments to our client.
Our Commercial Disputes team operates across all of our UK offices and is made up of almost 50 lawyers in total, including 14 partners. Artem Doudko, head of the Russia/CIS practice, is based in London.
