Role Summary

GFT have developed software assets and frameworks, which have been deployed to accelerate the delivery of digital banking solutions in partnership with Core Banking and Cloud Hosting service providers. GFT aims to have these solutions/assets/frameworks managed in a professional and structured way for commercialisation and is establishing a global Solutions Management function to provide a governance structure, common processes, central repository and ownership aligned to all stakeholders across the GFT organisation to help them locally engage their prospects and clients with.

GFT is committed to realising non-linear revenues from its assets and frameworks in addition to linear revenues derived through its traditional service offerings.

The Banking Solutions Director role is required to lead the existing Global Solutions Management Team, which sits within the Global Business Development (GBD) divisional unit and will be responsible for managing the Solutions Management function to achieve the following:

  • Manage the solution portfolio and roadmaps;
  • Own the customer offering roadmap from enablement to execution (end-to-end PLM);
  • Own the solution budgets and supports P&L owners in their delivery of revenue targets; and,
  • Manage the ongoing performance against revenue targets & KPIs.
  • Drive opportunities with the Global Core Banking Alliance teams, Business Development and Sales teams within Legal Entities, Global and Regional Marketing teams, Finance team, Legal team and the Centre of Excellence Leadership team.

The role offers a fantastic opportunity for someone to join and lead a team in its early stages of growth to help to shape the operation and successful growth of these solutions and be part of an important revenue engine for GFT.

The role reports to the GBD Divisional Head and will ideally be based in the UK but will have Global coverage. Other European locations with frequent travel to the UK may also be possible.

Your responsibilities will include:

Manage the solution portfolio and roadmaps:

  • Assesses/reviews market position.
  • Identifies and translates/review key market/customer needs into offerings.
  • Utilises customer and market input to develop new solution opportunities and overall solution roadmap.
  • Creates and seeks approval on strategic plans, roadmaps and initiatives.
  • Optimises investments/spending against priority actions (eg, new development, enhancements, offerings justified by tangible market opportunities).
  • Makes programme commitment.
  • Works with the wider GFT community to develop marketing and launch plans.
  • Conducts channel readiness.
  • Maintains a pricing framework, based on market awareness, that can be consumed by the GFT markets.

Own the customer offering roadmap from enablement to execution (end-to-end PLM):

  • Defines market requirements to ensure seamless hand-off to Development teams.
  • Collaborates with the Alliance Director and team to manage partner/vendor relationships/deals, including roadmaps and Go To Market initiatives.
  • Manages market value proposition to product lifecycle management (PLM) to solution delivery processes.
  • Conducts sales, operational and channel readiness.
  • Manages product positioning activities such as scope, buyer persona, etc.
  • Promote GFT through having a thorough understanding of GFT’s offerings and customer success stories.

Own the solution budgets and supports P&L owners in their delivery of revenue targets:

  • Creates initial business case (including pricing and margin).
  • Collaborates with all stakeholders to ensure understanding/commitment.
  • Collaborates with Finance to inform budget preparation.
  • Accountable to Legal Entity P&L owners for the definition of success.

Manage the ongoing performance against revenue targets & KPIs:

  • Partners with all stakeholders to ensure consistency with targets and KPIs.

People Management:

  • Identifies and recruits internal/external talents to ensure an effective mix of competencies.
  • Inducts new joiners to quickly maximize performance.
  • Sets and communicates team/individual objectives and KPIs to inspire individuals to achieve high performance.
  • Provides regular constructive feedback on performance/development and addresses poor/mediocre performance in a timely manner.
  • Recognises high performers to maintain motivation and retain key talent.
  • Regularly communicates on company news and team progress against business plan.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • High levels of strategic, commercial and entrepreneurial skill.
  • An energetic, self-starter attitude with the ability to work with limited oversight and a passion for technology.
  • Fundamental project management and planning skills.
  • Highly organised with the ability to oversee multiple workstreams simultaneously for multiple partners and to ensure that meeting minutes are kept and that GFT action owners deliver to agreed timelines.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholders at all levels in both GFT & the Partner organisations.
  • Ability to present complex information to clients, prospects, partners and colleagues in a clear and appealing manner and with credibility, to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience of prior solutions management leadership in a technology or consulting environment, and practical experience across the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) process.
  • Experience of, or exposure to, pre-sales and sales in the context of solution selling.
  • Experience in leading virtual teams and initiatives comprising of a culturally diverse group of stakeholders in multi-disciplinary functions to successful outcomes.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience of working with channel partners, systems integrators and third-party developers to deliver successful solutions.
  • Experience of working in a global Professional Services company and/or Enterprise Software Solutions provider.
  • Experience with, or strong knowledge of, Digital Banking (in Neo banking, retail & commercial banking).
  • Knowledge of cloud-native core banking providers.
  • Client engagement leadership experience would be beneficial.
