About us

We at Antler Interactive are looking for an Environment Artist to work on an unannounced blockchain Strategy RPG project

We’re a relatively small team currently looking to expand with several new positions – one of them being that of Environment Artist. We’re looking for someone that is interested in working on an ambitious RPG game with blockchain design elements.

We’re passionate to create an immersive player experience that is enhanced by blockchain technology – rather than being another tech gimmick. Together with our other project “My Neighbour Alice” we’ve already established a big crypto community that are excited for our upcoming productions.

Our goal is to create a fantastic game that anyone can enjoy. We’re really hyped to expand our team and are thrilled to welcome more people to our upcoming journey!

About you

Your primary job would be to create beautiful scenery compositions and environment assets with various visual themes that make up the landscapes and world of our game. These will set the flavour and ambient narrative we want to create, giving depth and substance, as well as beauty and heart.

You’ll be working closely with the Art Director and art team in a non-competitive/contending work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Create stylized 3D models and textures including rock kits, vegetation, temples, houses, ships, and other miscellaneous props, in accordance with the artistic direction, production deadlines and technical specifications.

  • Sculpting/Modeling, UV-mapping, baking high to low poly, and texturing.

  • Building most visual aspects of the game environment like terrains, valleys, scenery, props, and models in a 3D environment

  • Following environmental concept art, and improvising when necessary

  • Verify the quality of objects in the game, and make improvements where necessary to fit technical constraints and artistic direction.

  • Give regular visibility on results and blockers for your own work

  • Communicate possible problems and risks to ensure that production deadlines are met

  • Give feedback and propose solutions when challenges appear in the prop creation process, from concept art that needs clarification to anything that could be improved within the pipeline

  • Provide rough models for early game integration

Profile

  • 3+ years of experience working as an artist

  • Self-driven, highly autonomous, versatile and rigorous

  • A portfolio that shows solid experience in modeling environments

  • Created environments for at least one released title

  • Extensive experience working with Zbrush, Substance Painter & Photoshop

  • Experience working with Maya or Blender preferably, or with 3ds Max secondarily

  • A great collaborator in multi-disciplinary teams

  • Curiosity, creativity, gift of observation, and intuition

  • Extensive experience working with game engines like Unity or similar

Nice to have

  • Experience working with Unity
